Once again, Haverty Hollow committed to donating 10% of its proceeds from Drop In care on January 18th in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the work that he did. This year, we had some 50 students with us for Drop In or extra hours which allowed us to donate $240.00 to the Ben Marion Institute for Social Justice. All the animal lovers at Haverty Hollow are excited to welcome our newest addition to the nature porch! Coco is a female chinchilla, about 7 years old, given to us by a former Haverty Hollow participant who fell in love with our other chinchilla, Chichi, years ago, and talked her parents into getting her one of her own. Now Coco needs more attention than the busy owner has been able to provide, and we are happy to take over that job! Coco is very friendly and looks forward to meeting the other animal lovers out there!
